Visibility metrics explained

Definitions for every number on the scorecard: visibility, organic, share of voice, sentiment, rank, and the audit score.

Every metric on the dashboard has a hover tooltip, but here they are in one place:

  • Visibility - appearance rate: the share of AI answers (across engines and prompts) that mention your brand.
  • Organic - appearance rate on unbranded Discovery prompts only. Because nobody asked about you by name, this is the truest measure of organic AI visibility.
  • Share of voice - your mentions as a share of all brand mentions in the answers.
  • Sentiment - how favourably the answers frame your brand (positive, neutral, or critical), scored 0-100.
  • Rank - the average position your brand appears at among the companies an answer lists (1 = first). Only high-confidence, entity-verified rankings count.
  • Position - your rank among all tracked brands by mentions (1 = most mentioned in the category).
  • Audit score - a composite 0-100 blending mention rate, position, share of voice, and sentiment. Treat it as directional and read the components too.
  • Gaps - prompts where your brand is not mentioned at all. These are your most direct opportunities.
  • Retrieval - how often the engines actually searched the web for a prompt instead of answering from model memory. High retrieval means content and citations can influence the answer today; 0% retrieval means no published page can enter it - the engine composes those answers entirely from what it already knows, so winning them is a long-game brand-awareness play, not a content play.

Scores move week to week as engines update. Judge trends over several scans, not single runs.
