The Clusters tab organises your prompts into named buyer topics - "Agency Comparison", "Brand Communication" - so you can read performance and plan content per theme instead of prompt by prompt.
Generating clusters
Click Generate clusters and Lumen groups every tracked prompt into 3-8 topics, each with a name and a one-line description of the buyer intent it covers. Regenerate any time the prompt set changes; prompts added since the last generation wait in a Not clustered yet bucket until you do.
What each cluster shows
- Visibility - the average appearance rate across the cluster's scanned prompts.
- Gaps - prompts in the cluster where you are not mentioned at all.
- Retrieval - how often engines actually searched the web for the cluster's prompts. A cluster at 0% retrieval cannot be won with content alone - see Visibility metrics explained.
- Every member prompt with its own visibility, so you can see exactly where the cluster is won or lost.
Curating clusters by hand
The AI grouping is a starting point, not a verdict. Every prompt row has a selector: move a prompt to a different cluster, or choose No cluster to pull it out entirely. A cluster emptied of its last prompt is removed automatically.
Action plans
Each cluster can generate an action plan - the concrete assets to produce to win it:
- one hero article answering the cluster's core question (branded, bottom-funnel clusters get conversion pages instead),
- supporting FAQ, page, and comparison assets, each mapped to the specific prompts they target,
- an off-site placements list naming real venues to earn coverage on.
Every asset carries a priority (driven by measured visibility), a publishable title, and execution notes. Plans never propose "top N" roundups that would promote your competitors, and they survive cluster regeneration.
Planning within a content budget
Tell Lumen how many pieces you can actually produce this cycle and click Plan within budget. The budget is allocated across all clusters at once - concentrated on the clusters with the most to win rather than spread thin - and every cluster gets an honest note explaining its share, including the ones deprioritised this cycle. Off-site placements are outreach, not production, so they never spend budget.
From plan to work
Click Send to Actions on any asset to commit it to the Actions board as a tracked action - briefs, drafts, assignees, and before/after lift measurement all apply. Sent assets show an In Actions link back to the work.
